Tim Robinson has a new gig.
HBO has greenlit The Chair Company, a half-hour comedy featuring the I Think You Should Leave star, as per recent news. Robinson, along with his writing buddy Zach Kanin, will bring the story of William Ronald Trosper to life. Trosper stumbles upon a massive conspiracy after a humiliating work mishap.
“William Ronald Trosper is the kind of character only Tim and Zach can create,” said Amy Gravitt, HBO’s EVP of comedy programming. “I’m thrilled to share that we’ve picked up this incredibly entertaining show.”
Back in April, HBO decided to test the waters with a pilot for The Chair Company. Joining Robinson in this adventure are Lake Bell as Barb Trosper, Sophia Lillis as Natalie Trosper, Will Price as Seth Trosper, Joseph Tudisco as Mike Santini, and Lou Diamond Phillips as Jeff Levjman.
Fans are super excited about this new show!
Robinson is no stranger to comedy; he’s currently shining in the Netflix sketch series I Think You Should Leave, which he co-created with Kanin. The last season aired in May 2023, and we’re still waiting to hear if it will be back for more laughs. Before this, Robinson was a writer and performer on Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2016 and teamed up with Sam Richardson on Comedy Central‘s Detroiters.
