We hope everyone living in the Arconia has a sturdy lock on their door, because it looks like another murder is coming.
Hulu shared the exciting news on Wednesday: Only Murders in the Building is coming back for a fifth season. Just like the previous seasons, this one will have 10 episodes. Season 4 just started last week and will run until October 29, and fans gave its start, featuring Scott Bakula, an “A” grade.
Series co-creator John Hoffman said, “In this day and age, to have five seasons of anything is extraordinary, and it’s all due to this incredible group. I feel so honored to work with everyone both on screen and off screen on this one. I love the challenge of stepping up each season and doing our best to take a podcast pivot into a whole new world. That’s the other thing: We’re all interested in the ways in which we pivot. Everybody has been of like mind on this one, and it’s a sweet feeling for all of us to have this moment with this show, and know the way that it has landed with the world, and that people have embraced it. It’s overwhelming.”
This season takes a turn from Broadway to Hollywood as Charles, Oliver, and Mabel investigate a shocking incident involving Charles’ stunt double and friend, Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch). The mystery about whether Sazz or Charles was the real target sends them all the way to Los Angeles. There, they discover a Hollywood studio preparing to make a film about their podcast with Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, and Eva Longoria starring in it. The trio then races back to New York for an even bigger adventure — exploring their own building’s West Tower residents’ twisted lives.
Fans love how each season keeps us guessing.
The central murder for Season 5 remains a mystery for now — typically, we find out who the victim is by the end of the season. New episodes from Season 4 drop every Tuesday at midnight ET.
