A year has passed since Billy Miller’s death, and Kelly Monaco, his former General Hospital co-star, has finally spoken out.

On Sunday, Monaco shared an

of them grinning with roses in their teeth, writing, “Duces ‘I’ve got your back and you always had mine’ I will tell our story soon enough. I love and miss you… and beyond.”

In 2014, Miller joined the ABC soap as Jason Morgan/Drew Cain, stepping into the shoes of Steve Burton. He acted alongside Monaco’s Sam McCall until he left in 2019. Last month it was revealed that Monaco would also be leaving after a 21-year run.

Miller passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 43 after a long struggle with bipolar disorder. Many of his former colleagues paid tribute to him, including Amelia Heinle from Young and the Restless and Suits creator Aaron Korsh. Y&R even aired a special montage to honor his memory.

Fans felt a deep connection with him.

Miller made his soap debut in 2007 as Richie Novak on All My Children. This role led to his big break as Billy Abbott on Y&R. He was the fourth actor to play Billy but truly made the character his own, winning three Daytime Emmys during his six-year stint (two for Outstanding Supporting Actor and one for Outstanding Lead Actor).

He also appeared in various primetime shows like CSI: NY, Justified, Ringer, Major Crimes, and Ray Donovan. On Suits, he played Marcus Specter, Harvey Specter’s brother. Additionally, he was in the first season of Apple TV+’s Truth Be Told as Lizzy Caplan’s husband Lanie.

His legacy lives on through these roles and the memories he created with fans and colleagues alike.
