Golden Globes 2025 Date Announced by CBS

The Golden Globes are staying on CBS for the next five years. This news comes from a fresh deal with Dick Clark Productions. Starting in January 2025, the broadcast will also be available on Paramount+.

“CBS’ collaboration with the Globes this year was a big win,” said CBS President and CEO George Cheeks. He’s looking forward to more success in 2024. The Globes, he notes, are a unique live event that enriches CBS’ calendar.

Oh, and did you hear? There was a bit of a kerfuffle during the last ceremony. But more on that later.

Jay Penske, big boss at Penske Media and Dick Clark Productions, is thrilled. CBS, he says, really stepped up during tough times. They’ve shown a deep understanding of the Globes’ value.

The deal isn’t just about the Globes. It includes the American Music Awards too. Both events are Dick Clark Productions’ babies, and they’re moving to CBS.

Despite some hiccups—like Jo Koy’s hosting gig not hitting the mark—the Globes saw a viewership spike. A whopping 9.4 million tuned in, thanks to an NFL lead-in. That’s a 50% jump from 2023.

Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne is buzzing. This partnership with CBS and Paramount+? It’s a big deal. She’s proud of the audience they attracted in 2024. The goal? To make the 82nd Golden Globe Awards unforgettable.

So, what’s the takeaway? Big changes and big plans are afoot for the Golden Globes. And with CBS and Paramount+ in their corner, the future looks bright. Or, at least, very interesting.
