Euphoria Season 3 Update: Cancelled or Delayed?

The wait for *Euphoria*’s return just stretched a bit more. HBO announced on Monday that the drama’s third season faces another delay.

“HBO and Sam Levinson are all in on crafting an exceptional third season,” the network shared. They’re giving the cast space to explore other projects in the meantime.

An insider at HBO hinted, though, that 2025 is still the goal for the show’s comeback.

Over the summer, Levinson, the brain behind the series, dropped hints. He’s picturing Season 3 as a film noir. It’s all about navigating a murky world with integrity, through Zendaya’s Rue.

At the close of Season 2, Rue was clean from drugs, aiming to mend fences with Lexi (Maude Apatow). Meanwhile, Ashtray (Javon Walton) met a tragic end with the police at Fezco’s (Angus Cloud) place. Nate (Jacob Elordi) decided to turn his dad Cal (Eric Dane) in. Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Maddy (Alexa Demie) were left to sift through the ashes of their friendship.

So, what’s the scoop on Season 3? Barbie Ferreira, for one, won’t be returning. In August 2022, she announced her departure. “After four years as Kat, it’s time for a tearful goodbye,” she expressed. Ferreira hopes fans found a piece of themselves in Kat. “I poured my heart into her, hoping you felt it. Love you, Katherine Hernandez.”

The cast will also miss Cloud, who passed away in July at 25.

In this mix of delays, teases, and farewells, *Euphoria*’s next chapter promises complexity and emotion. Fans are left hanging on, hopeful for what’s to come.
