Peacock just dropped some big news. They’ve greenlit a new show, “The Miniature Wife,” straight to series. And guess what? Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen are not only starring but also executive producing. That’s right, the “Pitch Perfect” and “Succession” stars are teaming up.
The brains behind this unique romantic-dramedy? Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner, known for their work on “Boardwalk Empire.” They’re creating and executive producing too. “The Miniature Wife” promises a fresh take on marital dynamics. It’s all about Lindy (played by Banks) and Les (Macfadyen) who find themselves in a bizarre power struggle. A tech mishap triggers the ultimate relationship test, pushing them into a battle for dominance.
Oh, and there’s a bit of background on the series. It’s inspired by a short story from Manuel Gonzalez. Ames and Turner aren’t just the creators; they’re also the showrunners. And there’s more talent on board, with Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer joining as executive producers. They’re the ones behind “The Morning Show.”
In other news, Macfadyen’s got another project up his sleeve. He’s been cast in Netflix’s “Death by Lightning.” This drama dives into President James Garfield’s life, his rise, and his assassination. Macfadyen will portray Charles Guiteau, Garfield’s assassin, opposite Michael Shannon as Garfield. It’s based on Candace Millard’s book “Destiny of the Republic.”
Elizabeth Banks is keeping busy too. She’s starring in Christine Jeffs’ “A Mistake,” a medical drama film. And she’s in “Skincare,” alongside Nathan Fillion, Lewis Pullman, and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez. Quite the lineup, huh?
So, what do you think? Are Banks and Macfadyen the dream team or what? Will you be tuning in to “The Miniature Wife”? Drop your thoughts in the comments. Let’s chat about it.
