Chris Farley Biopic Casts Paul Walter Hauser, Josh Gad Announced

Chris Farley is making a comeback on the big screen. A biopic about the late comedian’s life and career has been announced.

Paul Walter Hauser, celebrated for his role in Apple TV+’s Blackbird, is set to portray Farley. The movie’s direction is in the hands of Josh Gad.

Lorne Michaels, who played a pivotal role in Farley’s career, is producing the film. It’s a project under Broadway Video.

The script is penned by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. It draws inspiration from The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts.

Farley’s untimely death was on Dec. 18, 1997, due to a drug overdose. He was found in his Chicago apartment, only 33 years old.

Hauser’s filmography is extensive, featuring roles in I, Tonya and Cruella. His TV appearances include Kingdom and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

This biopic marks Josh Gad’s directorial debut. It’s a significant step for him in the film industry.
