Bluey Brandy Pregnancy Twist and Baby Daddy Explained

Congratulations are in order for a member of Bluey‘s extended family. The Australian cartoon’s latest special “The Sign,” now streaming on Disney+, has revealed something special.

While the focus of the 28-minute episode is on Rad/Frisky’s wedding and the Heelers’ potential move, there’s a moment that has everyone talking. As the guests gather, we catch a glimpse of Bluey’s maternal aunt Brandy — and she’s pregnant!

Why is this such an important development, you ask? Voiced by Rose Byrne, Brandy’s character was introduced in the Season 3 episode “Onesies.” It was heavily implied that she was unable to have children of her own.

“There’s something Auntie Brandy wants more than anything else, but she can’t have it,” Chilli told Bluey. “And there’s not really anything anyone can do. It’s not meant to be.” This was a gentle way of explaining Brandy’s challenges with conceiving.

So, the fandom’s surprise was palpable when Brandy showed up at the wedding, visibly with child — or, with puppy. Did she finally conceive through in vitro fertilization? The series creator Joe Brumm hasn’t spilled any beans.

Always focused on its younger audience, Bluey often sidesteps the “how” of certain topics. These topics might not interest children, but they sure do intrigue adults.

That said, seeing Bluey and Bingo react to the news of getting another cousin would be delightful. Not to mention, adult viewers are very curious about Brandy’s unidentified baby daddy.
