  1. I just watched the season finale. It was great! I was encouraged that it said “season” finale instead of “series” finale. I hope that it continues. I would like to know more about the Reconstruction period and how southern and northern people lived and coped during this time.

  2. Love the show. Get mad at the display of human suffering and I understand that it is too intense for the American pubic after 2 years. We do not want to remember those years. Now Poldark is safe and so was Downton Abbey and Victoria. There is a degree of safety with these shows as it does not involve us directly.

  3. Still can’t get over the cancellation….Very disappointed in PBS for cancelling this show. Based on true events, The filmography, background and story was stunning. I don’t see PBS offering another American Historic show…wonder why.
