Yellowstone might not be ending after all.
Instead of being canceled, the show is set to continue with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser stepping in as the new main stars, replacing Kevin Costner, according to Puck.
The newsletter suggests that Reilly and Hauser, previously rumored but not confirmed to return as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler for a spinoff called The Madison, are now finalizing their deals to stay with the original series. Paramount Network has yet to comment on this development.
It’s easy to see why everyone is confused. For nearly a year, the network has been promoting Season 5B of Yellowstone, starting on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 8/7c, as the “final installment” of the series. Back in March 2024, Reilly hinted that we shouldn’t believe everything we read about the show’s future: “There are discussions, you know. Don’t believe everything you read. It’s just nonsense.”
Then three months later, Costner took to social media to confirm that he wouldn’t be continuing with Season 5B or any future seasons: “I’m not going to be able to continue, Season 5B or into the future.”
Remember back in January 2023 when Season 5A ended? John was teaming up with Beth to take down Jamie, who was plotting with his girlfriend Sarah to cause a deadly accident for John and Beth.
Sometimes we just want our favorite shows to go on forever!
Excited that Yellowstone might not be ending? Ready to see what happens next with Beth and Rip?
