The CW has officially renewed crime procedural Wild Cards for a third season, with the network announcing a January 2026 premiere window.
The series, which pairs a con artist with a straight-laced cop, has maintained steady viewership during its sophomore run, becoming one of the network’s more reliable performers in its post-corporate restructuring era.
“We’re thrilled to continue telling these stories,” said Michael Roberts, Executive VP of Programming at The CW. “The chemistry between our leads has really resonated with audiences.”
Wild Cards stars Vanessa Morgan (Riverdale) and Giacomo Gianniotti (Grey’s Anatomy) as unlikely partners who combine their contrasting skillsets to solve crimes. The series was developed by showrunner Brendan Gall, who also serves as executive producer alongside Michael Grassi.
The current second season is scheduled to conclude with its finale in May 2025.
The renewal comes as The CW continues to rebuild its scripted lineup following significant programming changes over the past two years. Wild Cards joins previously renewed Sullivan’s Crossing and Walker on the network’s 2025-2026 schedule.
Production on the third season is expected to begin in fall 2025 in Toronto.
