Hallmark Channel has renewed its long-running drama When Calls the Heart for a thirteenth season.
The network announced the pickup ahead of the show’s Season 12 finale, which is scheduled to air in 2024.
When Calls the Heart remains one of Hallmark‘s cornerstone series, following the lives of residents in the fictional frontier town of Hope Valley. The period drama has maintained a dedicated fanbase since its 2014 debut.
Erin Krakow, who stars as Elizabeth Thornton and serves as an executive producer on the series, expressed excitement about the renewal in a statement released by the network.
“We’re thrilled to continue telling these heartfelt stories that resonate so deeply with our viewers,” Krakow said.
The renewal comes as Hallmark Media continues to expand its original programming slate across both linear television and its streaming service, Hallmark+.
Season 12 of the the series is currently in production in Vancouver, with new episodes expected to premiere in early 2024.
The show’s ensemble cast includes Chris McNally, Kevin McGarry, Jack Wagner, Pascale Hutton, and Kavan Smith, among others. Based on Janette Oke’s book series, the drama was developed for television by Michael Landon Jr.
