Netflix has renewed Untamed for a second season, the streaming giant announced Thursday.
The renewal comes as the wilderness survival drama continues to perform well on the platform’s global charts since its debut earlier this year.
Untamed follows a group of strangers forced to survive together after a catastrophic plane crash in the remote Pacific Northwest. The series stars Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande), Michael B. Jordan (Creed), and breakout performer Lily Chen.
Created by showrunner David Keller (The Leftovers), the series has garnered critical acclaim for its intense character development and stunning cinematography of wilderness landscapes.
“We’re thrilled to continue this journey into the wild,” said Lisa Rodriguez, Netflix‘s VP of Original Series. “The audience response has been overwhelming, and we can’t wait to see where these characters go next.”
Production on Season 2 is expected to begin in early 2024, with the the new season likely premiering in late 2024.
Season 1 of Untamed is currently streaming on Netflix.
