Twisted Metal Renewed For Season 3 At Peacock With New Showrunner

Peacock has officially greenlit Twisted Metal for a third season, with the video game adaptation set to continue under new creative leadership.

The renewal comes as the streaming service makes a significant change behind the scenes, installing a new showrunner to guide the series’ future direction.

Twisted Metal, based on the popular PlayStation vehicular combat franchise, has become one of Peacock‘s standout original productions since its debut. The action-comedy series stars Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) as John Doe, a motor-mouthed outsider tasked with delivering a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

The series has maintained strong viewership numbers throughout its second season run, contributing to the network’s decision to move forward with additional episodes.

Details regarding the new showrunner’s identity have not yet been revealed, though industry sources suggest the change signals Peacock‘s commitment to evolving the show’s creative vision.

Production on the third season is expected to begin early next year, with the the premiere tentatively scheduled for late 2024.
