Treat Williams’ Cause of Death Revealed, Driver Charged in Accident Involving Motorcycle Crash

Renowned actor Treat Williams has tragically died at age 71 following a motorcycle crash in Vermont. The driver whose car collided with Williams’ motorcycle, Xinghong Dong, has been charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle, according to the local police.

The accident occurred on August 5, 2021, when Dong’s vehicle reportedly turned left in front of Williams’ motorcycle which led to a collision. Williams was then transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on August 6, 2021.

Throughout his long career in the entertainment industry, Williams earned a distinguished reputation for his roles on stage, in films, and on television. Some of his memorable performances include the 1979 film adaptation of “Hair,” the TV series “Everwood,” and his portrayal of Danny “Dakota” Reed in the 1986 film “Smooth Talk” opposite Laura Dern.

Williams began his acting career in the 1970s, starring in Broadway shows and getting his big break with the film “Prince of the City” in 1981. Over the years, he also starred in a number of popular television series, such as “Chesapeake Shores” and “White Collar.” Williams continued to work in the industry up until his untimely death, with recent appearances in shows like “Blue Bloods” and “Chicago Fire.”
