Tonight Show Reduces to 4 New Episodes Weekly

Jimmy Fallon is cutting back The Tonight Show to four new episodes a week.

Unlike other major late-night shows, Fallon was the only one still airing fresh episodes on Fridays. Shows like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and The Daily Show have already reduced their schedules to four nights a week.

But don’t worry, Fallon isn’t going anywhere soon. Earlier this year, NBC signed a deal with him to keep The Tonight Show on air until 2028.

Fans are seeing fewer viewers tuning into late-night shows, leading to budget cuts. In June, it was announced that Late Night would lose its house band, The 8G Band, as part of these cutbacks.

New episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will now air Monday through Thursday at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.

USA Today first reported the schedule change for The Tonight Show. Are you shocked by this news? Maybe sad? Or don’t care at all? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
