Apple TV+ has renewed The Studio for a second season, the streaming platform announced Tuesday. The renewal comes ahead of the comedy series’ first season finale, scheduled to air next month.
The workplace comedy, which debuted earlier this year, follows the behind-the-scenes chaos at a struggling film production company as executives and creative teams navigate industry challenges.
Series creator Emma Winters expressed excitement about the renewal in a statement. “We’re thrilled to continue telling these stories and diving deeper into the characters that audiences have connected with,” Winters said.
The Studio stars Michael Chen (previously seen in The Office) as ambitious studio head David Morris, alongside Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers) as veteran producer Sarah Kline. The ensemble cast includes Thomas Wright, Alicia Dawson, and Emmy-winner Richard Johnson.
The series has received critical acclaim for its sharp writing and performances, with particular praise for its authentic portrayal of entertainment industry dynamics.
Production on the second season is expected to begin this fall, with the new episodes likely premiering in late 2023.
The first season finale of The Studio will stream on Apple TV+ on December 15.
