The Rainmaker Renewed For Season 2 At USA Network

USA Network has renewed legal drama The Rainmaker for a second season, the network announced Thursday.

The renewal comes amid steady ratings for the freshman series, which has maintained a consistent viewership since its fall debut.

The Rainmaker follows ambitious attorney Michael Landon (James Martinez, House of Cards) as he navigates high-stakes corporate litigation at a prestigious Chicago law firm. The series has garnered critical acclaim for its nuanced portrayal of legal ethics and complex case structures.

“We’re thrilled with the audience response to The Rainmaker and excited to continue this compelling story,” said Katherine Powell, Executive Vice President of Original Programming at USA Network. “The writers have crafted an intricate legal world that resonates with viewers.”

Martinez leads a cast that includes Regina Hall (Girls Trip) as managing partner Eleanor Wright and David Oyelowo (Selma) as rival attorney Jackson Pierce.

The series was created by former attorney Thomas Kirkman, who serves as executive producer alongside showrunner Meredith Davis and director Anton Fuqua.

Production on the 10-episode second season is scheduled to begin this spring in Chicago, with a premiere slated for late 2023.

The first season finale of The Rainmaker is set to air March 15.
