NBC has renewed The Hunting Party for a second season, the network announced Wednesday as part of its 2024-25 programming slate.
The thriller series, which debuted in January, stars Reid Scott (HBO’s Veep) as a Manhattan prosecutor whose life unravels after a deadly home invasion. The renewal comes despite modest linear ratings, with the series finding additional audience through digital and streaming platforms.
NBC also greenlit a second season of game show The Wall, hosted by Chris Hardwick. The competition series has maintained steady viewership in its current time slot.
“These renewals represent our commitment to programming that resonates with diverse audiences,” said Susan Rovner, Chairman of Entertainment Content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “Both shows have found their audiences in different ways, and we’re excited to build on their success.”
The Hunting Party was created by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) and executive produced by Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment alongside Universal Television.
The series co-stars Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) and Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost). Production on the second season is expected to begin this summer.
NBC has yet to announce premiere dates for the returning series.
