The Floor Among Two Renewals at Fox

Fox has renewed its high-stakes quiz show The Floor for a second season, the network announced Tuesday.

The competition series, hosted by Rob Lowe (9-1-1: Lone Star), pits 81 contestants against each other in a battle of knowledge and strategy across a giant floor-sized game board.

“We’re thrilled to bring back The Floor for another season of intense competition,” said Allison Wallach, President of Unscripted Programming at Fox. “The show has resonated with our audience and Rob’s dynamic hosting has been instrumental to its success.”

The Floor premiered in January 2023 and maintained solid ratings throughout its first season run. The format, adapted from a popular Dutch game show, features contestants challenging opponents in adjacent territories on the game board.

Each face-off requires competitors to identify images related to specific categories, with winners claiming their opponent’s territory. The last contestant standing takes home a grand prize of $250,000.

Lowe, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, expressed enthusiasm about the renewal.

“The contestants bring such passion and knowledge to the game,” Lowe said. “I’m excited to see a new group of competitors battle it out on the floor next season.”

The renewal comes as part of Fox‘s broader commitment to unscripted programming, which includes recent pickups for Name That Tune and I Can See Your Voice.

Production on season two is expected to begin later this year with a targeted premiere date in early 2024.
