Hallmark Channel has officially renewed The Chicken Sisters for a second season, with JAG alum David James Elliott joining the cast.
The network greenlit the sophomore season following strong viewership for the series, which is based on KJ Dell’Antonia’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name.
Elliott (previously seen in Heels and Spinning Out) joins returning stars Schuyler Fisk, Genevieve Angelson and Wendie Malick in the small-town drama.
The Chicken Sisters follows the long-standing rivalry between two family-owned fried chicken restaurants in Kansas. The series explores themes of family loyalty, small-town politics, and generational conflict.
Production on the second season is expected to begin later this year, with new episodes slated for a 2025 premiere.
The renewal comes as Hallmark continues to expand its original scripted content offerings beyond its traditional holiday movie lineup.
