Hulu has renewed The Bear for a fifth season, the streaming platform announced Thursday. The renewal comes ahead of the critically acclaimed culinary drama’s fourth season, which is currently in production.
The Jeremy Allen White-led series continues its impressive run following its breakout success and multiple Emmy wins.
The Bear stars White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, a fine-dining chef who returns to Chicago to run his family’s sandwich shop following his brother’s suicide. The ensemble cast includes Ayo Edebiri (Liza Colón-Zayas), Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce and Matty Matheson.
Created by Christopher Storer, the series has garnered critical acclaim for its authentic portrayal of restaurant culture and intense character dynamics.
The show’s third season premiered on Hulu in June, with all episodes dropping simultaneously — a release strategy the streamer has maintained since the show’s debut.
FX Productions, which produces the series, has not yet announced a premiere date for the upcoming fourth season.
White, who previously starred in Showtime’s Shameless, won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his performance as Carmy, while Edebiri took home the Supporting Actress trophy for her role as Sydney Adamu.
The renewal signals Hulu‘s continued confidence in one of its flagship original series as the platform expands its portfolio of critically acclaimed content.
