CBC and Paramount+ have renewed the medical drama SkyMed for a fourth season, the networks announced Tuesday. The series will continue its high-stakes storytelling set against the backdrop of air ambulance rescues in remote Canadian locations.
The renewal comes as the show’s third season prepares to wrap production in Manitoba and Ontario.
Season 4 will see the return of core cast members Natasha Calis (Emma), Morgan Holmstrom (Hayley), and Aason (Aaron) Nadjiwon (Bodie). Additional casting announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
“We’re thrilled to continue following these dedicated first responders as they navigate both professional challenges and personal relationships,” said Julie Puckrin, creator and executive producer of SkyMed.
The series — which follows the professional and personal lives of nurses and pilots flying air ambulances in Northern Canada — has garnered steady viewership since its 2022 debut.
[Spoiler Alert] Season 3 concluded with several cliffhangers, including a potential career change for lead character Emma (Calis) and relationship developments between key characters.
Production on the new season is scheduled to begin in early 2024, with an expected premiere date in fall 2024.
Puckrin returns as showrunner alongside executive producers Vanessa Piazza (Lost Girl) and Ron Murphy (Departure).
