When Alanna Gold, the new face on Selling Sunset, claimed she and her husband owned a desert town in California named Pioneertown, it raised some eyebrows.
Gold has since apologized for her statement on Season 8 of the Netflix series. She told People, “I certainly do not own Pioneertown, I never should have said that and I apologize for doing so. I want you to know that I did not mean any harm, I absolutely love Pioneertown and I simply got too excited talking about it.”
She clarified that she and her husband had invested in a home and other properties in Pioneertown because they wanted to be part of the community. Gold added, “I would never want to disrespect the town’s history or any of the people who make it such a wonderful place.”
They called her statements “baseless,” explaining that she only has a minor interest in six out of thirty-five parcels in the Mane Street area, making up less than 1% of the town’s 640 acres. The notion that she owns the whole town is “verifiably false.”
In the new season of Selling Sunset, Gold boasted to her colleagues, “I own a little Western town in the desert.” This astonished everyone, and she even took some of them to visit Pioneertown. They dressed up in Western outfits and explored the area.
Sometimes, we get too excited and say things we don’t mean.
