Netflix has officially renewed Running Point for a second season. Kate Hudson, who stars in the action-thriller series, made the announcement through a special video message to fans.
The renewal comes just weeks after the show’s first season debuted on the streaming platform to strong viewership numbers.
Hudson, who plays former military operative Avery Chase in the series, shared her excitement about returning for another season.
“We’re coming back for Season 2!” Hudson said in the announcement video. “I’m so grateful to all the fans who watched and supported the show. We can’t wait to bring you even more action and surprises next season.”
Running Point follows Chase, a private security specialist who becomes entangled in a global conspiracy while protecting a high-profile tech CEO. The series marks Hudson’s first leading role in a television drama after primarily establishing herself in film with projects like Almost Famous and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
The show’s ensemble cast includes Michael Peña (Narcos: Mexico), Walton Goggins (Justified), and newcomer Talia Ryder. Series creator David Levinson serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Hudson.
[Spoiler Alert] Season 1 ended with Chase discovering the identity of the shadowy organization targeting her client, setting up a potential international conflict for the second season.
Production on Season 2 is expected to begin in early 2024, though Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date.
The complete first season of Running Point is currently streaming on Netflix.
