Ron Cephas Jones has received another Emmy nomination for his performance as William Hill in “This Is Us.” His character, who is the biological father of Randall Pearson (played by Sterling K. Brown), dies in a scene that is both memorable and emotional. Brown shared his own reaction to working alongside Jones in the series, discussing their connection on and off-screen.

In an interview, Brown spoke about how he felt after seeing the list of 2021 Emmy nominees and noticing that Jones’ name was on it. Brown said, “I felt like, ‘Yeah, that’s my dad!’” He described feeling a sense of pride in being a “part of something that would lead to him getting recognized in this way.” Jones has previously won an Emmy for his role in 2018 and received another nomination in 2019.

Brown also talked about his experience working with Jones on “This Is Us,” referring to Jones as “a gentle, kind, loving presence” on set. He recalled his first encounter with Jones, mentioning that they immediately connected, even before they started filming together. Brown said, “We had this ease of working together that just felt so comfortable and so natural, and it only grew as the show went on.”
