Netflix has renewed Ransom Canyon for a second season, the streaming giant announced Thursday.
The renewal comes as the drama series continues to perform well for the platform following its debut. Based on the book series by New York Times bestselling author Jodi Thomas, Ransom Canyon explores the lives and relationships of residents in a small Texas town.
The series stars Josh Duhamel (Transformers, Jupiter’s Legacy) and Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights, Euphoria), who lead an ensemble cast that brings the rich characters of Thomas’ novels to life.
Set against the rugged landscape of West Texas, Ransom Canyon weaves together stories of love, loss, and redemption as the town’s residents navigate personal and professional challenges.
Executive producer Amanda Marsalis, who directed several episodes of the first season, will return for the sophomore run. Production is expected to begin in early 2024.
Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for the second season, though it’s likely to debut in late 2024 or early 2025.
The the first season of Ransom Canyon is currently available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
