Power Prequel Series Explores Ghost and Tommy Origins

Starz is at it again. They’re juicing up their crime drama franchise that’s been around for a decade.

This time, they’ve got something new brewing. It’s called *Origins*, a prequel series that’s all about digging into the past of Ghost and Tommy. You know, those characters everyone loves? Omari Hardwick and Joseph Sikora brought them to life originally.

If this thing gets the green light, *Origins* will be the fourth kid on the *Power* block. We’ve already got *Power Book II: Ghost*, *Power Book III: Raising Kanan*, and *Power Book IV: Force* doing their thing. The first one popped up in September 2020 and is gearing up for season four in 2024. The second made its entrance in July 2021 and is currently shooting season four in New York. And the third? It kicked off in February 2022 and is now filming season three in Chicago.

Oh, and guess what? Starz is hitting a milestone. The 10-year anniversary of *Power* is coming up. It first hit the screens in June 2014. Kathryn Busby, the big boss of programming at Starz, is pretty pumped. She says it’s amazing to see how fans have latched onto the *Power* universe. And she’s looking forward to *Origins* adding some new flavors to the mix.

Sascha Penn, the brain behind *Raising Kanan*, is on board as an executive producer for *Origins*. And the whole *Power* Universe? That’s being steered by Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Mark Canton. They’re the trio keeping the ship sailing.

So, what do you think? Are you ready to dive into Ghost and Tommy’s backstory? Got any actors in mind who could fill those big shoes?
