Owen Wilson to Star in Apple TV Plus Golf Comedy Series

The streaming service that introduced us to the lovable Ted Lasso is at it again. They’re hoping their next sports-themed series will leave you utterly speechless, with a simple “Wow!”

Apple TV+ just greenlit a comedy about golf. It stars Owen Wilson and comes from the pen of Jason Keller, known for “Ford v Ferrari.” The show, still without a title, revolves around Pryce Cahill. He’s a once-promising golfer whose career took a nosedive two decades ago.

After Pryce loses his job at a sporting goods store in Indiana and his wife leaves him, he puts all his chips on a young golf prodigy. The stakes? Higher than ever.

Wilson isn’t just the lead; he’s also producing the show. He’s joined by a stellar team of executive producers. Think Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris of “Fleishman Is in Trouble,” and Ben Silverman from “The Office,” among others.

When will we see it? That’s the million-dollar question. As of now, there’s no release date. But this series adds to Apple TV+’s impressive lineup of comedies. Shows like “Acapulco” and “The Big Door Prize” are coming back for more laughs.

In other news, Owen Wilson recently wrapped up Season 2 of “Loki” as the TVA agent Mobius. November 2023 marked the end of the season.

Disney+ is keeping mum on the future of this Marvel series. Yet, there’s chatter about a possible Season 3, thanks to executive producer Kevin Wright’s hints to TVLine.

And for those who can’t get enough of scripted series, there’s a massive list waiting. Over 300 shows are listed from A to Z. It’s a treasure trove for TV enthusiasts, available for perusal on TVLine.
