Prime Video has renewed Overcompensating for a second season, the streaming platform announced Thursday. The comedy series will return following its successful freshman run.
The renewal comes as the show continues to build momentum with viewers and critics alike.
Overcompensating follows the misadventures of a group of friends navigating relationships and career challenges in New York City. The series blends workplace comedy with personal drama as characters struggle to balance professional ambitions with their complicated personal lives.
The ensemble cast is expected to return, though Prime Video has not yet confirmed specific casting details for the upcoming season.
Creator and executive producer Sarah Levine expressed excitement about continuing the story. “We’ve only scratched the surface with these characters,” Levine said in a statement. “Season two gives us the opportunity to dive deeper into their world.”
Production on the second season is slated to begin early next year, with a premiere date yet to be announced.
Overcompensating joins a growing slate of original comedies on the streaming service, which has been expanding its programming across multiple genres in recent months.
The complete first season is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
