One Tree Hill Sequel Series in Development at Netflix: Returning Cast

“Siri, play ‘I Don’t Want to Be’ by Gavin DeGraw.”

Netflix is cooking up a new One Tree Hill sequel series, and it’s got fans buzzing. Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are coming back as Brooke and Peyton, but this time, they’re dealing with teenage kids.

As reported by Deadline, Chad Michael Murray isn’t expected to return as Lucas Scott.

Becky Hartman Edwards is the writer behind this revival, with Warner Bros. TV backing it. Jensen and Danneel Ackles are also executive producers, and Danneel might even come back as Rachel Gatina. Emily Moss Wilson is producing.

WBTV didn’t want to say anything yet. Netflix has also been asked for comments.

The original show first aired in 2003 and ended in 2012 after nine seasons. You can watch all the episodes on Hulu and Max. The cast included Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Paul Johansson, Lee Norris, and Antwon Tanner. Later on, Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten, and Jana Kramer joined the fun.

Bush, Burton, and Lenz started a rewatch podcast called Drama Queens in 2021, which became super popular. Buckley joined as a co-host in July.

Sometimes we just can’t wait for these shows to come back!
