Nicholas Denton Leads Third Series of Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe on AMC

AMC Networks is diving deeper into Anne Rice’s universe with a new series on the way.

This new show, The Talamasca (a working title), will shine a light on a secret group that keeps tabs on supernatural beings like witches, vampires, and werewolves around the world. The show will have six episodes in its first season and is set to air on AMC and AMC+ in 2025.

Excitingly, Nicholas Denton, known for Dangerous Liaisons, has been cast as Guy Anatole. Guy is smart and good-looking but always felt different. Just as he’s about to finish law school, someone from Talamasca tells him they’ve been watching him since he was a kid.

Soon, Guy dives into a world filled with secret agents and immortal beings. To survive and keep the balance between mortals and immortals, he must embrace his unique self.

We’ve already seen members of Talamasca in Interview With the Vampire, which wrapped its second season in June, and Mayfair Witches, currently finishing Season 2 in Ireland.

Fans really love these characters. Ciprien Grieve has been a major player in Mayfair Witches, keeping an eye on Rowan Fielding. Interview With the Vampire also introduced Raglan James in Season 2.

The new series will be led by John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty as co-showrunners. They’ll be writing and executive-producing it together. Hancock will also direct episodes.

“This story has been on our minds from the beginning,” says Dan McDermott from AMC Networks. “The Talamasca is a fascinating secret society that fits perfectly within our Anne Rice universe. We’re thrilled to have John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty leading this project.”

Hancock adds, “It all started when Mark Johnson asked if I knew about The Talamasca. I loved the idea of a secretive group similar to the CIA or MI6 but with their own hidden secrets.”

Lafferty was also quickly interested: “When John described this secret organization within the Immortal Universe, I was hooked. Working with John is an honor. Big thanks to Dan McDermott and everyone at AMC for their support.”

Mark Johnson says, “We’re adding something completely new to Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe. The Talamasca blends spy thrills with supernatural elements for an exciting experience.”
