– Both series will premiere on PBS in 2023
“Miss Scarlet and The Duke” and “All Creatures Great and Small” fans can now rejoice as their favorite series have been renewed. PBS has announced new seasons for both shows, with premiere dates set for 2023.
In a statement, Pamela Rosenstein, Senior Programming and Development Executive at PBS, said, “Our viewers love these beautifully written, expertly acted, and emotionally grounded series, and we’re confident that the new seasons will continue to captivate and engage fans in 2023.”
“Miss Scarlet and The Duke,” which stars Kate Phillips as Eliza Scarlet, the first-ever female detective in Victorian London, and Stuart Martin as Detective Inspector William “The Duke” Wellington, has been confirmed for a second season. The show gained praise for its strong female protagonist and suspenseful drama as Eliza takes over her father’s detective agency and partners with her former childhood friend, now a Scotland Yard detective.
On the other hand, “All Creatures Great and Small” has been renewed for its fourth season. Set in the 1930s in the fictional Yorkshire village of Darrowby, the series is based on the memoirs of British veterinarian James Herriot. It chronicles the life and challenges faced by a rural vet, played by Nicholas Ralph, with touching stories of the animals he treats and the people who care for them. The show’s ensemble cast, including Samuel West, Anna Madeley, Callum Woodhouse, and Rachel Shenton, has garnered acclaim for their compelling performances.
Both of these series have gained popularity due to their endearing characters, nostalgic settings, and engaging narratives. Now, fans can eagerly anticipate the return of Miss Scarlet and James Herriot as they embark on new adventures in 2023.
