Mercedes Mone Makes Big Business AEW Debut

Mercedes Varnado has officially joined the ranks of All Elite. She made quite the entrance.

Under the new name Mercedes Monè, she debuted at AEW’s Big Business event. It was a Wednesday night to remember. “Thanks for having my back these past two years,” she expressed to the Boston crowd. Her reasons for being there were clear. “I need to be here. I want to be here,” she declared, aiming to spark a global revolution.

Her eyes have been on the AEW locker room for a while. She’s eager to “tear it up” with everyone. That’s a promise.

She had a special message for Willow Nightingale too. “You and I have a lot of unfinished business.” The tension? Palpable.

After Willow’s victory over Riho, chaos ensued. Julia Hart and Skye Blue launched an attack. That’s when Monè stepped in, showcasing her new finisher, the Monè Maker, on Hart. A bold move.

Remember when Mercedes Mone first wrestled as Mercedes Monè? It was at New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January 2023. She’s been making waves ever since.

Her journey included winning the IWGP Women’s Championship and then losing it. Not to mention, an ankle injury during a match against Willow Nightingale at Resurgence. It’s been a rollercoaster.

Before NJPW, she was Sasha Banks in WWE. Remember the walkout during Monday Night Raw with Naomi? That led to suspensions and a tournament for new champs. Drama followed them.

Naomi, now back in WWE, had a stint with IMPACT Wrestling. She even snagged the TNA Knockouts World Championship. A triumphant return.

Varnado’s resume? Impressive. NXT Women’s Champion, WWE RAW Women’s Champion (5x), WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion (3x). She’s a decorated athlete.

So, Mercedes Monè in AEW. What’s your take? Let’s hear it in the comments.
