Lupin Renewed for Part 4 at Netflix

Netflix has renewed its hit French thriller series Lupin for a fourth installment, the streaming giant confirmed Thursday.

The renewal comes as the Omar Sy-led series continues to be one of the platform’s most successful international productions since its debut in January 2021.

Sy will return as Assane Diop, the charismatic gentleman thief inspired by the adventures of fictional character Arsène Lupin. The actor, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, shared his excitement about continuing the character’s journey in a statement released by the streamer.

“We’re thrilled to continue Assane’s story with our incredible fans around the world,” Sy said. “Part 4 will push our hero in new and unexpected directions.”

Created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan, Lupin has become a global phenomenon, consistently ranking among Netflix‘s top non-English language series. The show’s third part, released earlier this year, saw Diop going underground while attempting to protect his family from the consequences of his actions.

Production details and a release window for Part 4 have not yet been announced, though sources indicate filming is expected to begin in Paris later this year.

The series has been praised for its slick production values, intricate heist sequences, and Sy’s magnetic performance. Before Lupin, Sy was best known internationally for his role in the French film The Intouchables (2011).

Netflix continues to expand its international content library as global productions like Squid Game, Money Heist, and Lupin drive subscriber engagement across markets.
