Lioness Renewed for Season 3 at Paramount+

Paramount+ has renewed Taylor Sheridan’s espionage thriller Lioness for a third season, the streamer announced Tuesday. The decision comes ahead of the show’s Season 2 finale.

The series, which stars Zoe Saldaña as CIA officer Joe and Laysla De Oliveira as Marine-turned-operative Cruz, has become one of the platform’s top-performing original series since its 2023 debut.

“Taylor has once again created an exceptional, gripping story that keeps audiences coming back for more,” said Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President of Programming at Paramount+. “We’re thrilled to continue this journey with such an incredible cast and production team.”

Lioness follows a covert CIA program that embeds female operatives within terrorist organizations. The show draws inspiration from an actual American military program.

The ensemble cast includes Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) as CIA supervisor Kaitlyn Meade and Morgan Freeman (Shawshank Redemption) as Secretary of State Edwin Mullins. Michael Kelly, Genesis Rodriguez, and Dave Annable round out the supporting cast.

Production details and a premiere date for Season 3 have not yet been announced.

Season 2 of Lioness concludes this Sunday on Paramount+.
