Leanne Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

Netflix has renewed the comedy series Leanne for a second season, the streaming giant announced Tuesday.

The renewal comes just six weeks after the show’s debut season premiered to strong viewership numbers and positive critical reception.

Leanne stars Jessica Harding as the titular character, a mid-level corporate executive navigating career challenges while dealing with her chaotic personal life. The series features supporting performances from Michael Chen (The Good Place), Aisha Williams (Insecure), and veteran character actor Richard Thompson.

Created by showrunner Diane Martinez, the series has been praised for its sharp dialogue and realistic portrayal of workplace dynamics.

“We’re thrilled to continue Leanne’s journey,” Martinez said in a statement. “The response from viewers has been overwhelming, and we have so many more stories to tell in this world we’ve created.”

Production on the second season is expected to begin in early 2024, with the the new episodes tentatively scheduled to premiere in fall 2024.

Executive producers include Martinez, Harding, and studio veteran Thomas Klein, who previously worked on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation.

Netflix has not yet announced how many episodes the second season will contain. Season 1 consisted of 10 half-hour episodes.
