– Donald Glover is reportedly working on a Disney+ series focused on Lando Calrissian
– Glover’s brother, Stephen Glover, will be heavily involved in the project
– The Glover brothers previously worked together on the FX series “Atlanta”
Donald Glover is said to be developing a new Star Wars project for Disney+, centered around the character Lando Calrissian. Stephen Glover, Donald’s brother, is expected to play a major role in the creation of this project.
According to reports, the Glover brothers have been in the early stages of creating a new project focused on the popular Lando Calrissian character, who was first portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in the original Star Wars trilogy and later by Donald Glover in Solo: A Star Wars Story. This is not Donald Glover’s first foray into the world of Star Wars, as he previously played Lando in the film “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”
In an early October 2021 interview, Stephen Glover told Vanity Fair that he and his brother were working on a project related to Star Wars: “We have a show! I can’t say what it is exactly, but it’s for Disney.” No further details have been revealed by either of the brothers or Disney.
The Glover brothers are best known for their work on the critically acclaimed FX series “Atlanta,” in which Donald served as the creator, writer, director, executive producer, and star of the show, while Stephen worked as a writer and producer. The duo’s collaboration on “Atlanta” earned several accolades, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards.
There is no word yet on whether Donald Glover will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian in this new project, though it seems likely given his previous portrayal and involvement in the development.
The Lando Calrissian-focused series would join an expanding roster of Star Wars content on Disney+, which already includes shows such as “The Mandalorian,” “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” and the upcoming series “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “The Book of Boba Fett.”
