Gaga began her Instagram post with the caption, “I’ll never forget the day I met you,” and continued to share details of their first encounter, which took place on the set of Bennett’s TV special. According to Gaga, Bennett was “full of laughter and humor,” even offering her a piece of cake.

Lady Gaga went on to describe the impact Bennett had on her life and her immense gratitude for his guidance and friendship. “You changed my life. You completed me, showed me parts of myself I didn’t believe were real,” she wrote.

She also extended her condolences to Bennett’s wife, Susan, and their children, adding, “My heart breaks for his precious, beloved family… who lost their rock. I’m sending you all my love.”
