Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are set to star in a new Netflix rom-com this fall, and it’s going to be quite the ride.
Netflix dropped the trailer for “Nobody Wants This” on Thursday, featuring Bell as an agnostic podcast host and Brody as a quirky rabbi. They meet at a party, and sparks fly instantly. The show’s summary hints that Joanne and Noah, despite their differences, feel a strong connection. However, they must navigate their contrasting worldviews, modern love challenges, and meddling families—Joanne’s sister Morgan and Noah’s brother Sasha add to the mix.
Other cast members include Justine Lupe from Succession, Timothy Simons from Veep, Stephanie Faracy from True Colors, Tovah Feldshuh from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Paul Ben-Victor from The Wire, Michael Hitchcock also from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jackie Tohn from GLOW, Sherry Cola from Good Trouble, Emily Arlook from grown-ish, and Shiloh Bearman from Home Economics.
“This show is based on the only good decision I ever made: falling for a nice Jewish boy,” said Erin Foster, series creator and co-showrunner. “But I realized that being happy is way harder than being miserable (there’s nothing to complain about). So, I created this show based on all the ways that finding the right person can be so hard. Nobody Wants This, but we do, and that’s all that matters.”
Sometimes fans just want a good love story they can relate to.
“Nobody Wants This” will be available on Netflix starting Thursday, Sept. 26. All ten episodes will be released at once. Check out the new trailer above and let us know what you think in the comments!
