FX’s popular show “Justified” is set to make a return with a new limited series titled “City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.” The series will be based on Elmore Leonard’s book and will feature Timothy Olyphant, who played Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens in the original series.
In addition to Olyphant reprising his role, Walton Goggins, who portrayed the infamous villain Boyd Crowder, is currently in talks to join the project. It is unclear whether Goggins’ character will feature in the new series, but fans are eagerly awaiting the potential reunion of Givens and Crowder.
“City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit” will follow Givens’ journey after the events of the original series. The story will revolve around his pursuit of a dangerous escaped prisoner named Clement Mansell, who is known as the infamous “Oklahoma Wildman.” Givens will find himself partnered with another principled marshal, Rachel Brooks, to take down this new threat.
The upcoming series will be executive produced by several industry veterans, including Michael Dinner, Sarah Timberman, and Carl Beverly, who all worked on the original series. VJ Boyd and Sarah Choi will serve as the showrunners and Drew Edwards will also be an executive producer. The limited series is expected to be around eight episodes long.
“City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit” is still in the early stages of development, but the return of Timothy Olyphant and potentially Walton Goggins has fans excited for the revival of “Justified.”
