HGTV Renews Flip Off, Orders Home Town Spinoff Amid Cancellations

HGTV has renewed The Flip Off for a second season while simultaneously ordering a new Home Town spinoff amid a wave of programming changes at the network.

The competition series The Flip Off, which features brother duos Tarek and Herc El Moussa facing off against Jon and Tom Messner, will return for another season following strong viewership for its debut run.

HGTV also greenlit a new spinoff from its popular franchise starring Ben and Erin Napier. The new series will expand the Home Town universe, which already includes Home Town Takeover and Home Town Kickstart.

These programming moves come as the network implements significant changes to its lineup. Several long-running series have reportedly been canceled as part of a broader strategy to refresh the channel’s content offerings.

The network has been strategically pivoting toward competition formats and personality-driven shows that connect with viewers. The Flip Off exemplifies this approach, leveraging established talent in a high-stakes renovation battle format.

Ben and Erin Napier (Home Town) have become cornerstone personalities for HGTV since their 2016 debut. Their expanding franchise demonstrates the network’s confidence in the their ability to attract and maintain viewership across multiple series concepts.

Premiere dates for the returning and new series have not yet been announced.
