Handmaid’s Tale Final Season Begins Production: First BTS Photo

Production on the final season of The Handmaid’s Tale has officially begun.

Alright, we can’t resist: Praise be!

Hulu dropped the first sneak peek from Season 6 on Friday. In the photo, Elisabeth Moss, who stars in and also produces and directs the series, is holding a production slate to kick off filming.

Elisabeth Moss revealed in May that she’s directing four episodes for this last season. These include the premiere, Episode 2, the episode before the finale, and the final episode.

“I think for us, the most exciting and rewarding thing is that we feel we’re making this for the fans,” she said at the time. “I get it: Five years of having to put up with some pretty dark stuff, and everyone has been very, very brave.”

She continued: “I feel like this season, we’re giving it back to the audience… We definitely really have our eye on that, making sure that it does feel rewarding and satisfying for the fans and like what we would want to watch, you know, as fans of the show.”

This season will also introduce a new character played by Josh Charles. He recently worked with Moss in The Veil and will be a series regular in The Handmaid’s Tale.

We love when shows think about what fans want!

While details about Charles’ character are still under wraps, his addition adds to the excitement as we await more surprises from this final chapter.
