- A “Good Burger” sequel is in development for Paramount+.
- Original stars Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell will return for the sequel.
- “Good Burger” was originally a popular sketch on the show All That before becoming a 1997 movie.
We can finally find out what happens as a follow-up to the 1997 teen comedy, “Good Burger.” Paramount+ is developing a sequel to the hit film, featuring popular Nickelodeon duo Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reprising their roles.
The announcement was made by Brian Robbins, President of Nickelodeon, during a conference call about the ViacomCBS streaming service. The original film stemmed from an All That sketch on the network featuring the characters Ed and Dexter, played by Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson, working at a goofy fast-food restaurant called Good Burger. The movie’s storyline revolved around Ed and Dexter trying to save the restaurant from the competition.
The original stars, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, are set to reunite for the sequel, marking the return of their beloved characters. Currently, Thompson stars in “Saturday Night Live,” while Mitchell has a leading role on the Nickelodeon series “Kenan.”
“Good Burger figured prominently in the initial concept for All That,” Robbins said during the conference call. The “Good Burger” sequel would be the latest return to a shining period in Nickelodeon history as well as bringing back fond memories for the fans of the duo.
There is no release date set yet for the “Good Burger” sequel, but it is eagerly anticipated by those who enjoyed the original film and the sketch that inspired it.
