Prime Video has renewed its post-apocalyptic hit Fallout for a third season ahead of its Season 2 premiere, the streaming platform announced Tuesday.
The adaptation of the popular video game franchise will return for its sophomore season on April 15, 2025.
Fallout stars Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets) as Vault Dweller Lucy MacLean, who ventures into the irradiated wasteland of 2296 Los Angeles. The series also features Walton Goggins (Justified) as The Ghoul, Aaron Moten (Emancipation) as Brotherhood of Steel soldier Maximus, and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) as Lucy’s father, Hank.
The renewal comes after the show’s critically acclaimed first season, which became one of Prime Video‘s most-watched series debuts.
“The world of Fallout has captivated audiences in a way we couldn’t have imagined,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios. “We’re thrilled to continue this journey with our incredible creative team for a third season.”
Executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who developed the series through their Kilter Films banner, will return for both upcoming seasons. Nolan directed the the series premiere.
Season 1 concluded with Lucy making a life-altering decision after discovering the truth about Vault-Tec and her father’s involvement in the pre-war experiments.
[Spoiler Alert] The finale saw Lucy choosing to remain in the wasteland rather than return to Vault 33, while The Ghoul reclaimed his Hollywood mansion and Maximus ascended to a leadership position within the Brotherhood of Steel.
Production on Season 2 is currently underway, with new cast additions expected to be announced in the coming months.
