Doc Renewed for 22-Episode Season 2 After Becoming Fox’s Top Entertainment Program

Doc has been renewed for a 22-episode second season after becoming Fox’s most-watched entertainment program.

The medical drama starring Molly Parker has secured a full-season order following its impressive performance in the ratings. Fox executives announced the renewal Tuesday, citing the show’s strong viewership numbers across both broadcast and streaming platforms.

“We’re thrilled with the audience response to Doc,” said Michael Thorn, President of Fox Entertainment. “The series has connected with viewers in a meaningful way, and we’re excited to bring more of these compelling stories to our audience.”

Doc follows Dr. Amy Elias (Parker), a talented physician who suffers memory loss after a traumatic accident and must rebuild her career and personal life. The series premiered in January and quickly established itself as a ratings winner for the network.

The show averages 6.5 million viewers per episode across all platforms, making it Fox’s most successful scripted series launch in three years.

Molly Parker expressed her excitement about the renewal in a statement: “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to continue exploring Amy’s journey. The response from viewers has been overwhelming, and I can’t wait to see where we take these characters next season.”

Production on the second season is expected to begin this summer, with new episodes slated to air in fall 2024.

The series also stars Joshua Jackson, Stephen Moyer, and Sadie Stanley. It was developed for American television by Barbie Kligman, based on the Italian series “Doc – Nelle tue mani.”
