Dead Boy Detectives is no longer on Netflix.
The streaming giant has pulled the plug on the DC Comics-based show after just one season, which premiered on April 25. This news has been confirmed.
The series, inspired by characters from Neil Gaiman, Matt Wagner, and Malcolm Jones III, featured George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri as Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland. These teens, from different eras, meet in death and become detectives solving supernatural mysteries. They face witches, Hell, and even Death herself to stay together. With help from a psychic named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), they tackle bizarre cases from the mortal world.
Fans often feel disappointed when their favorite shows get canceled.
This show was part of Netflix’s Sandman universe, another creation from Gaiman’s DC comics. But don’t worry: The Sandman will return for a second season with new faces like Jack Gleeson (King Joffrey from Game of Thrones), Indya Moore (Pose), and Barry Sloane (Revenge).
