Daredevil Born Again Renewed for Season 3 at Disney+

Disney+ has renewed Daredevil: Born Again for a third season ahead of the series’ first season premiere, sources confirmed Wednesday.

The streamer’s decision signals strong confidence in the Marvel Television production, which stars Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil from the original Netflix series.

Production on the second season of Daredevil: Born Again is currently underway in New York City, with the first season expected to debut on Disney+ in early 2025.

Cox leads the cast alongside Vincent D’Onofrio, who returns as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. The series also features Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher, with newcomers Sandrine Holt (American Gigolo) and Margarita Levieva (The Deuce) joining the ensemble.

The early renewal comes after significant creative retooling of the first season. Marvel Studios executives paused production last year to bring in new showrunners Dario Scardapane (The Punisher) and Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Moon Knight) to reshape the series.

“We’re taking the character back to its roots,” Cox said in a recent interview. “Fans of the original series will recognize the tone we’re aiming for while we explore new territory.”

Daredevil: Born Again marks the character’s full-fledged return to television after Cox made brief appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

The series serves as both a revival and soft reboot of the character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following Netflix’s cancellation of the original Daredevil series after three seasons in 2018.
