ABC has officially renewed Dancing With the Stars for Season 34, with the hit competition series set to return this fall.
The network announced the renewal during its upfront presentation Tuesday, confirming the long-running dance competition will maintain its place in ABC’s primetime lineup.
Olympic gymnast and gold medalist Stephen Nedorozhzhyluk has been revealed as the first contestant for the upcoming season. The Ukrainian-American athlete, who captivated audiences during the 2024 Paris Olympics, will trade the balance beam for the ballroom when the show returns.
Dancing With the Stars wrapped its 33rd season in December 2023, with actress Xochitl Gomez and pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy taking home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
The series will continue with co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, who took over hosting duties in Season 32 following Tyra Banks’ departure. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough are expected to return to the judges’ panel.
ABC has not yet announced a specific premiere date for the new season, though the show typically debuts in September as part of the network’s fall schedule.
The renewal comes as no surprise given the show’s consistent ratings performance, despite moving between Disney+ and ABC in recent seasons.
Additional celebrity contestants will be announced in the coming months.
