Criminal Record Season 2 Confirmed on Apple TV+

After six months of waiting, the crime thriller Criminal Record has been renewed for a second season on Apple TV+.

Back in February, Cush Jumbo hinted at this during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. When asked if there would be another season, she replied, “There will be, yeah.” However, Apple didn’t confirm it at that time.

The show features Jumbo and Peter Capaldi as two detectives with contrasting careers. In Season 1, they got involved in an old murder case because of a mysterious phone call. The cast also included Aysha Kala, Shaun Dooley, Tom Moutchi, Charlie Creed-Miles, Dionne Brown, Zoë Wanamaker, Cathy Tyson, and Stephen Campbell Moore.

Season 2 will see June Lenker (played by Jumbo) leading an investigation after a political rally turns violent due to far-right counter-protesters. A young man dies in the chaos, and June feels guilty and driven to find the killer. Her best lead is Daniel Hegarty (played by Capaldi), now deep in police intelligence. However, she must strike a risky deal to get his help.

Fans are super excited about the renewal news!

The first season ended on February 21st with eight episodes. There’s no word yet on when Season 2 will air. Are you excited for its return?
